The beginning of Path
About Our Founder, Krystal Schumacher
Krystal is an expert in wayfinding and signage design, passionate about creating impactful user experiences. At Denver International Airport (DEN), she led the modernization of the wayfinding program and played a key role in the Concourse Expansion Project, roadway signage, and the development of Signage and Design Guidelines and Standards, airport-wide. Her work earned her recognition as one of the Top 40 Under 40 in the airport business. She continues to be a trusted advisor and build a strong network within the airport community. With over 12 years of experience, Krystal has also held adjunct teaching roles through her alma mater's College of Architecture program. It brings her great joy to continue inspiring future leaders in wayfinding and environmental graphic design. Krystal also partners with a Toronto-based brand implementation company, BrandActive, where she expands her expertise in managing rebranding strategies and signage projects, particularly for large healthcare systems. She oversees comprehensive signage strategies, ensures alignment with branding goals, manages budgets, and ensures timely installation—delivering user-centered solutions that meet design and regulatory standards. Krystal’s approach involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, high-level stakeholders, and vendors to create cohesive, effective solutions. Krystal’s passion for the industry and ever-evolving experience has led her to launch Path EGD, where she will continue to grow her passion and build a team of experts who share her dedication to creating innovative and impactful wayfinding and signage solutions.
